Laleng, Max - All Faiths or None
My final piece of art shows there is some sort of rivalry or conflict on two different sides of a brick wall; on one side there is the conflict where trouble is occurred and then the side shows peace. This is shown by one side of the wall is a graffiti stencilled peace symbol and on the other is a modern tank breaking through the wall and trying to destroy the peace. The person who has inspired me to create this piece was the graffiti artist Banksy as I have used stencils to create the effect of one of his pieces of art.

Lynch, Hayley - Dreamcatcher
Lynch, Hayley - Dreamcatcher
My art work is of a dream catcher that looks like a Ying-Yang. The dream catcher was used in Native America which represented 'spider women' which was an important person to children as they were told spider woman kept them safe during dreams and made sure they only had good dreams. The only problem was they said that 'spider women' was finding it harder to look after children so mothers and grandmothers would weave children dream catchers representing that they are safe when sleeping, Today dreamcatchers are just seen as a pretty decoration and the history has been forgotten. I chose to decorate it with the Ying-Yang as it shows two opposite forces can be good, which links to the dreamcatcher because spiders are not seen to be a good thing to keep you safe but in this context they are shown as loyal and are there for safety.
