Presentation: Nigerian Fashion and Creativity Industries in the face of Globalisation: Challenges and the way forward

Over the years Nigerian fashion has been highly promoted by Nigerians in the diaspora by patronising fashion designers in Nigeria which comes with the challenges of exporting the finished works to customers in the diaspora.

The money used in sending the clothes to countries like the USA and the United Kingdom is very expensive, a situation where customers spend more on courier than the cost of the entire clothes. This presentation will unveil our different African designs with an emphasis on Nigerian designs and how well we can keep the fashion and creativity industries to be able to address the fashion design and creativity needs of Africans living in the diaspora.

The presentation conclusion suggests that there is a need for business partnerships to train and establish a business whereby a fashion and design business can be managed and run by Africans in the diaspora.
