To kick things off with KArtsCon 2022, we are running a schools art competition to engage schoolgoers to think creatively and critically about the theme. This year’s theme is ‘Art: Unexpected‘.
The competition is open to all primary and secondary school students in the county of Kent in the following Year groups:
A picture that illustrates something unexpected. The artist can decide what ‘unexpected’ means. Each entry must have a title and a brief description (maximum 150 words). Only one entry per student, please.
Entrants must submit the work as a JPG or GIF or PNG upload using this entry form. Please make sure that the scanned artwork is CLEAR and of good quality.
Important: Due to the volume of previous submissions, we will require ALL submissions to be made online. If your work is chosen, we will ask you to bring it in for exhibition purposes.
Your entry must be two-dimensional. You may use any materials, techniques or processes (e.g. drawing, painting, printmaking, textiles, photography, collage, montage, CAD). Maximum size is A2.
Selected final entries will be chosen from each school in each age group to be exhibited throughout the duration of the Conference.

Prizes are kindly sponsored by local organisations. Prizes will be presented to the winners at a special reception of KArtsCon. All other artworks will be available to view on the KArtsCon website under participating school logos.
