Julie is passionate about opening dialogues into mental health difficulties and empowering others to take steps towards transformation and healing. Her life has been one long journey learning to identify and take action to support her mental health; navigating her way through depression, anxiety, fibromyalgia, and most recently, menopause. The onset of menopause symptoms coincided with lockdown and life suddenly became much more difficult to manage. For her, the most distressing symptom was undoubtedly the cognitive impairment.

2022 - Anne Baldwin

Anne Baldwin is based on St Mary’s Island. I’m 56 years old and learnt to draw in 2020 after injuries sustained in a car accident in 2015. I started doodling and found this focused my mind. I then scoured YouTube for tutorials to teach me to draw I was fascinated with pastels and focused on those although I’ve since tried colour pencils and charcoal and graphite.

2022 - Carole Jones

My works are primarily mixed media abstracts, incorporating a passion for recycling, texture and colour. I take inspiration from all that life has to offer and gain satisfaction when that feeling and essence are captured in my work. Where possible I like to incorporate recycled and found objects into my work and create something pleasing from objects that would otherwise be discarded.

2022 - Jamila Zanna Muhammad

My name is Jamila Zanna Muhammad. I have been painting on fabrics for the last 25 years and occasionally do some canvas painting as a hobby which I gift to friends and family members during special occasions. However, during the recent coronavirus lockdown, I got the inspiration to start full-time acrylic and oil canvas paintings. My paintings are abstract and metaphysical with a deep linkage between what we are and what we ought to be, what we are, and what we wish to be with the overall expression of our common humanity.
